Would I have to see doctors after the transplant if I
receive a kidney?
Yes. You will need medical care for the rest of your
life. Right after your transplant, you will need to see
doctors often. After a few months, you may be seen less
often.
Would I have to take medication after I receive
a kidney?
Yes. You will need to take many kinds of medicine.
Some of these you will take for the rest of your life.
These medicines are crucial for the new kidney to
work. Not taking the medicines may cause your
transplant to fail.
Would I feel any pain after the transplant?
This is major surgery that can result in pain and
complications. It is important that you talk with your
doctor about the risks.
After receiving a kidney, would I be able to eat what I
want to?
You may be able to eat a wider range of healthy foods.
Your doctor will give you advice about what you can eat.
