The Talking About Living Kidney Donation (TALK) with Friends and Family Study was designed to help people with kidney disease learn about their treatment options and talk with family, friends and their doctors about Live Donor Kidney Transplantation. Eligible participants were randomly assigned to one of the following three interventions:
- Usual Care: Participants received routine care and TALK educational video and booklet after 6 months.
- TALK: Patients received routine care and the TALK and educational video and booklet.
- TALK-Plus: Patients received routine care, TALK educational video and booklet, and free counseling sessions with a trained counselor.
