The goal of the Prepare NOW Study is to improve early, shared, and informed decision-making about preparation for kidney disease treatment options between patients, their families and their health care providers. The NOW acronym stands for:

We will study the effectiveness and sustainability of integrating healthcare system and provider decisions support interventions to improve treatment preparation among three heterogeneous clinical practices in the US. We will also pilot study the incremental effectiveness of tailored patient-centered decision support delivered jointly with system and provider decision support to improve preparation outcomes compared to system and provider support alone.
